Kenneth Richard Edmiston Jones, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Riverside Place in Hoquiam, Washington.
Ken was born on Aug. 23, 1942, in Aberdeen, Washington to Catherine (Louiso) Edmiston and Kenneth R. Edmiston. Ken was later adopted by James T. Jones after his marriage to Catherine in 1946. He grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1962. He then attended Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen.
He went to work for Mack Trucks at the age of 17. He worked his way up through the company and eventually was a District Parts Sales manager for Mack. Ken and his family moved to Andover, Minnesota in January 1987. He retired in 2010.
On July 25, 1965, Ken married Cheri Louise Newton in Aberdeen. She passed away on April 23, 2017.
Ken was a member of the Model T Ford Club of America, the National Geographic Society and the Horseless Carriage Club of America. He enjoyed restoring Model T Fords and collecting American Flyer Trains.
Ken is survived by a son Jeff (Stephanie) Jones of St. Francis, Minnesota and two daughters: Jennifer (Jon) Bennefeld of Montesano, Washington and Angie (Nathan) Morehouse of Seattle; two sisters and two brothers: Beth (Brad) Gill of Cosmopolis, Washington and Barbara (Sam) Easter of San Antonio, Texas, Alan (Tammie) Jones of Montesano and Jim (Linda) Jones of Satsop, Washington; eight grandchildren: Jacob, Gabriele and Averee Morehouse, Thalia Peña and Devon Jones and Kendra, Carmen and Summer Bennefeld; five great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen. A celebration of his life will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Light and Life Community Church in Hoquiam. Luncheon to follow.
