Ocean Shores resident Larry Earl Larson passed away at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen on Sept. 22, 2024. He was 87 years old.
Larry was born on April 25, 1937, in Port Angeles to parents Vincent Earl Larson and Opal Elois (Matheson) Larson. He was raised in the Puyallup area and graduated from Fife High School. After high school, Larry went on to serve in the United States Air Force for four years, working as a jet engine mechanic. During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge in 1959, he spent the next 40 years at the Boise-Cascade Abitibi Consolidated plant in Steilacoom. On Feb. 13, 2000, he married his sweetheart, Patricia Marie Bueckers, in Reno, Nevada. The couple moved to Ocean Shores in 2014.
Larry was a member of the Lutheran Church and attended services regularly. He thoroughly enjoyed building birdhouses and going to the track to watch the horse races. He also enjoyed indulging on snacks and sweets from time to time, his favorites were Mt. Dew, Lay’s potato chips, jelly beans, and Whoppers.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia Marie (Bueckers) Larson of Ocean Shores; sons, Larry Larson Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina and Gary Larson of Bonney Lake; daughter, Robin Henderson of Waxahachie, Texas; sisters, Joanne Meade of Yakima and Lois Larson of Lakewood; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Earl Larson and Opal Elois (Matheson) Larson; son, Kelly Smith; and his beloved canine companion, Greta, who will be laid to rest with Larry. “Best Friends, Together Forever”
Graveside military services will be held at The Tahoma National Cemetery, date and time are pending and will be announced at a later time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.
