Lawrence Allen Saunders, 53 years of age and a Hoquiam, Wash. area resident for the past 14 years, died on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash.

Lawrence Allen Saunders, 53 years of age and a Hoquiam, Wash. area resident for the past 14 years, died on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash. He was born on Aug. 21, 1963, in Spokane, Wash. to William Dana and Evelyn Marie (Ahlers) Saunders.

He was raised and attended Saint Charles Catholic School in Spokane and following his high school graduation he attended an ITT Technical Institute.

As a youth he enjoyed fixing up his cars and following high school he worked at Bennett Lumber Company.

Lawrence Allen Saunders was married to Elizabeth Franz in 1992 at Deary, Idaho. They were later divorced.

He attended the Saint Charles Catholic Church in Spokane.

He had worked at Sierra Pacific Industries in Aberdeen and enjoyed the time he worked at Weyerhaeuser Saw Mill in Cosmopolis, Wash.

In 2002 he and Susan Haggerty became a couple and Bailey Saunders was born to them in 2007.

Lawrence had travel to many places to include Germany and the State of Georgia. He enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks, especially when they won the Super Bowl, NASCAR, going on walks to the bay and scuba diving.

The time he spent with his daughter, Bailey, was very important to him. He will be remembered for his kindness, tender compassion, his caring love of family and animals to include his dogs, Taz and Rowdy.

Lawrence A. Saunders is survived by his girlfriend, Susan Lynn Haggerty of Hoquiam; a daughter, Bailey Evelyn Saunders of Hoquiam; a brother, Garry Saunders of Colfax, Wash.; one step-daughter, Michelle Anne Dohrmann; a step-son, Richard Michael Haggerty and two grandchildren, Rylee and Maxx.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam.
