Leslie Eugene Foote passed away Dec. 19, 2024. He was born March 2, 1957, to Harold E. and Audrey (Felix) German in Fargo, North Dakota. His family moved to Washington when Les was a young child, living several places before settling in Aberdeen in the early 1970s.
Les graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1975. During his high school years he was a stand out wrestler, earning several awards. It was also at AHS that he found his passion as an automotive mechanic.
Les worked for several logging companies throughout his life. Most notably Boyd Zepp, Pattison and Oconnor and Stott Logging. He loved operating the heavy equipment and would make those machines do things that no other human had the courage to do. He also worked as a mechanic over the years for B&B Automotive, Wasson Buick, Superior Transmission and most recently Harbor Saw and Supply.
Les loved helping friends and family with mechanical issues on their vehicles. Any time someone would call in distress, he would drop everything to rescue them. Les spent several years coaching his son Aaron in baseball. He was one of the most generous humans. Whether it was donating to a worthy cause or purchasing from local kids’ fundraisers, you never knew what he’d come home with because “it was for the kids.”
Les married Tammy Watson in 1978. They later divorced. He then married Jeanne LeTourneau, but they later divorced. In 2016 he married his wife Jen-Nei Pellegrini who resides in the family home.
Les is survived by his mother Audrey Dankulich, sister Judy (Bryan) Halvorson of Aberdeen, Pam (Gary) Dallas of Odell, Oregon; brother Waylon Foote of Chehalis and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Robert Foote, brothers Larry Foote and Bob Foote and his beloved son Aaron Foote.
A celebration of life is scheduled for April 26, at the Hoquiam Elks Lodge at 1 p.m.
