Louise Evelyn Gregory, 97 years of age and longtime resident of Hoquiam ,Washington, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at her Hoquiam home. She was born Oct. 13, 1922, the youngest child of Merritt C. and Barbara (Seidelman) Greely.

Louise married Charles A. “Chuck” Gregory on Feb. 12, 1943, at the Hoquiam Presbyterian Manse. They moved into their present family home in 1975, which Chuck and Louise built themselves.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Gregory Burkart of Snohomish: her son and daughter-in-law, Al and Bonnie Gregory of Hoquiam; five grandchildren, Suzie (Jason McBride) Gregory-Aberdeen, Brian (Crystal) Gregory-Port Townsend, Scott (Krista) Burkart – Snohomish, David Bible – Salt Lake City, Utah, Barbara Burkart – Post Falls, Idaho. Seven great-grandchildren, Tanner, Cooper, Katie Jo, Elizabeth Louise, Dominick, Regan and Cassidy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Gregory on Dec. 6, 1994.

Louise enjoyed being a homemaker, especially known for her baking. In 1995 she joined Solo Widows & Widowers group and traveled many places with her friends, she especially enjoyed a wonderful trip to Europe. She belonged to the Hoquiam American Legion Auxiliary for 74 years. Louise also volunteered for the Blood Bank for many years.

Recently she was asked what was her greatest accomplishment, Louise said “her Family.”

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to either the YMCA or PAWS.
