Marilyn Adelaide Kloempken, 77, of Montesano, Washington, passed away on April 1, 2024, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Marilyn Adelaide Kloempken, 77, of Montesano, Washington, passed away on April 1, 2024, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Marilyn was born on June 26, 1946, to Benton William Taylor and Margaret Davison Taylor in New Castle-On-Tyne, England. Marilyn moved from the UK to the United States in 1950 and spent the rest of her life in Grays Harbor County.

After graduating from Hoquiam High School in 1965, she attended Grays Harbor Community College. Marilyn married Lewis (Lewie) Kloempken in 1968. Marilyn and Lewie went on to have two children, Karmen and Tanya. They later divorced.

Marilyn worked in the Classified Advertising Department at The Daily World newspaper until her retirement in 2008.

Marilyn is preceded in death by both parents. She is survived by her daughter, Karmen and husband Gary Gallinger of Montesano, Washington; daughter, Tanya and husband David Proctor of Bellevue, Washington; and five grandchildren, Kyra Gallinger (25), Kobe Gallinger (24), Myah Gallinger (21), Jackson Proctor (21) and Zachary Proctor (18). She is also survived by a loving extended family, and numerous friends that she truly adored.

Marilyn enjoyed volunteering at the Miss Grays Harbor and Miss Washington Scholarship Pageants, observing birds feeding at her various bird feeders, and watching her grandchildren participate in their various sporting activities.

As per Marilyn’s wishes, no memorial services will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
