Marjorie Leyden Fisher Wells, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Peoria, Ariz. on Friday, June 29, 2018.
Marge was born on Jan. 12, 1931, in Norfolk, Va. to Louis and Marjorie (Leyden) Fisher. She graduated from Falls Church High School in 1948 and attended Strayer Secretarial College in Washington D.C. She was a lifelong volunteer, a community organizer and always a champion for the underdog.
She loved to travel, take cruises, read books, dine out and play at the casinos. Marge was a talented woodcarver, crafter, cook, and writer. But mostly she was a loving mom, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend.
She enjoyed her retirement years in Hemet, Calif., Westport, Wash. and Peoria, Ariz.
Marge’s beautiful smile, kindness, generosity and witty sense of humor touched and uplifted so many of our lives, yet she would often say, “How did I get so lucky?”
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, Jeffrey, and her sister Dorothy “Dot” Woolf. She is survived by her five children, Kenneth (Mary Jane), Debra (Tom), Kevin (Stephanie), Richard (Kris), and Tracy (Rich); 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers Harrison Lee Fisher And Louis “Bud” Fisher and her wonderful nieces and nephews.
