Retired Army Sergeant Mark Ronald Tobert, 61, of Hoquiam, Washington, passed away from complications of a stroke in Spring Hill, Florida on Dec. 10, 2024.
He was born in Aberdeen, Washington on Feb. 2, 1963 to Lora Blanche and Ronald Gerald Tobert, and he was the first of their three boys. Mark attended Hoquiam High School and graduated in 1981. He joined the Army in September of 1982.
A proud veteran, Mark served 10 years in Active Duty Army and seven in the Army Reserves attaining the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Army as a communication specialist in Germany for a number of years. He served as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was deployed during the Gulf War.
While serving his country, he earned many honors, medals and commendations, retiring after 17 years of service.
As well as the US Army, Mark also earned his Bachelor’s Degree and began working for the State Of Florida in Emergency Management. Taking on several vital roles during the many natural disasters throughout his 20 years of employment, also retiring.
Mark was proud to have done his duty to help defend the freedom and safety of citizens across this country, and was a member of many organizations over the years.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Ron Tobert, and his mother Lora Krause. He is survived by his wife Pauline Tobert (Wabes), stepfather Robert Krause, son Brandon Tobert (Katrina), daughter Stephani Frost, son Kyle Age (Janeya) brothers Matthew Tobert (Holli), Miles Tobert, Rodney Krause (Suzette) and Roger Krause (Nancy), and sister Selena Krause (Gary). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
