Mary Johnson, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, surrounded by those she loved. Mary was born on Nov. 7, 1941, to Eugene Frederick Muhlhauser and Margaret LaVonne Romanerman in Aberdeen. Mary was raised in Aberdeen. She married Oran “Sonny” Johnson on June 4, 1960. They spent 62 years together happily.
Mary graduated from JM Weatherwax High School in 1959. She worked for Kluh Jewelers for 25-plus years. Mary was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles, Hoquiam Elks, and enjoyed visiting the 40 et 8.
Mary enjoyed playing pinnacle with her friends, baking, traveling with her family and friends, and trips to the casino. She loved visiting with her many brothers and sisters, lifelong friends Bill and Linda Fritts, her monthly visits with her friends Kim Malizia and Ricki Prosch, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mary Johnson is survived by her 2 children, Oran Johnson Jr. (Rita Johnson) of Rockford, Michigan and Shellie Johnson (Rick Walters) of Aberdeen, Washington, her 4 grandchildren: Brittany Noll (Tim), Brandon Johnson, Ryan McCue (Erica), and Alisha Liscombe (Blake), and her 4 great-grandchildren, Avery and Hadley Noll, Denver Johnson, and Tallyn Liscombe.
Other family members include her brothers, Larry Muhlhauser (Ute) and Fritz Muhlhauser, sisters, Jenny Cochran (Mike), Joann Anders (Les), and Cindy Clements, and sister-in-law, Joan “Sis” Beck. Mary had many nieces and nephews.
Mary’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. This will be a potluck, everything is appreciated.
