Mary Kathleen Johnson, 84, died May 14, 2022, at home in Lacey, Washington.
A celebration of life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1116 Yew Ave NE, Olympia, WA 98506 on July 16, at 11 a.m.
Mary was born April 1, 1938, in Bingen, Washington, to Raymond Martin Crawford and Gladys Ruth (Wysaske) Crawford. They later moved to Olympia and she graduated from Olympia High.
She married William Edgar Johnson in 1963 and became a second mother to his children, Dallen, Dane, Tamara and Darryl. They moved to Alaska in 1964 and had two more daughters, Teresa and Tanya.
In 1974, she moved back to Olympia and divorced. She worked at The Evergreen State College until she retired. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved teaching children.
Mary was service oriented and a very family-focused person. Drawing, painting, embroidery, quilting, rock painting, blowing eggs, weaving birds, creating custom cards, rock hunting, skiing, gardening, berry picking and family history were hobbies she enjoyed.
She is survived by brother Patrick Crawford, his wife Gayle; children, Tamara Frizzell, Darryl Johnson, Teresa Howells and Tanya Johnson; grandchildren: James Warrior, Kimberly Cassidy and Christopher Warrior; and great-grandchildren Emberlyn Charette and Gabriel Cassidy.
