Melvin Delbert Cook, 90, born on April 3, 1933, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen, Washington. He was the son of William N. Cook and Bertha Ida Cook in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He was the 5th of 6 children. Melvin grew up in the San Francisco area, and attended Mission High School, and later Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. He served in the United States Navy on a “Destroyer”, and later became an estimator at Berlin Food, estimating large kitchen facilities. He loved to volunteer at the San Francisco Airport, and the San Mateo Hospital.
Melvin is survived by his brother, Eugene Cook, of Grayland, Washington.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
While no formal services are scheduled, Melvin wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread on the lakes of Washington. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
