Michael Douglas Allen, 79, of Tokeland, Washington, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Aug. 28, 2024.

Mike was born on June 22, 1945, to William and Nora Allen in Portland, Oregon. He enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He moved to Aberdeen, Washington, in 1969 to work for a friend’s family business. He later opened Mike’s Auto Repair Service where he was the owner/operator until he retired. During retirement, he enjoyed working with the Tradewinds Hotel and the Shoalwater Bay Tribe as their handyman.

He and his wife Leona met in Aberdeen and married on Dec. 4, 1982. They bought their little cottage at the beach in 1985 and made it their forever home.

He had a love for music and musical instruments passed to him by his parents, he enjoyed tinkering with pretty much anything, was a lifelong reader and learner, an eloquent writer, and a loyal fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Oregon Ducks. He especially loved his family, and was a very proud husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and uncle.

Mike was predeceased by both his parents and two older siblings, Sandy Russell and Bill Allen Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Leona Allen; daughter Angela (Shannon) Roberts, step-children Carolee (Jay) Hall and John Tierney (Sherri Fought); grandchildren Ryan Roberts, Jared (Adrianne) Hall, Levi (McKenna) Hall, Samuel Hall, and Maggie Hall; great-granddaughters Ryan and Aven Hall; great-grandsons Jay Hall and Jace Hall (expected this December); and brother Creig (Alice) Allen.
