Mildred Lowene (Ward) Lewis, known to everyone as Milly, 90, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, in Hoquiam, Washington. Milly was born on March 17, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colorado to Abner Leonard Ward and Jessie Dolly Rupe.

Milly moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1937, and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1952. On Aug. 31, 1951, Milly married Glenn O. Lewis Jr. at the Congregational Church in Klamath Falls. They welcomed three boys, Gary (1956), Randy (1958) and Michael (1965). In 2016, Glenn and Milly moved to Westport, Washington. After Glenn passed away in 2017, Milly moved to Channel Point Village in Hoquiam, and then Pacific Care and Rehabilitation Center for a short period before her death.

Milly worked most of her adult life in administrative and clerical roles including as County Election Clerk, bookkeeper, office manager and ultimately an Escrow Officer. Milly volunteered while supporting her children’s participation in youth sports, was president and board member of the Klamath Community Concert Association, and was elected for several terms to the Board of Directors of the Klamath County 911 District.

Milly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening, reading books, writing poetry, sewing, and most of all singing. She sang in high school, church, and community choirs, as well as a trio that sang upon request for events and groups for many years. Church was important to Milly and she was an active member of several churches throughout her life, being joined by Glenn later in life. She enjoyed teaching and led Bible studies they hosted in their home for many years.

Milly was preceded in death by her husband of 65+ years, Glenn, her mother Dolly, her brother Robert Ward, and sister Dovie George. She is survived by her sons: Gary Glenn (Ginny) Lewis of The Woodlands, Texas, Randy Dennis (Janet) Lewis of Westport, Washington, and Michael Allen (Julie) Lewis of Vancouver, Washington; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
