Mrs. Margaret Marie “Peggy” Harp, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Moscow, Idaho. Born on Aug. 25, 1946, in Olympia, Washington, Peggy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion.

Peggy was the daughter of Morris William Fant and Marjorie Joan Fant and grew up in Olympia alongside her brother Gus Fant. She attended local schools and graduated from Olympia High School in 1964. She later pursued further education at Grays Harbor Community College.

A devout Catholic throughout her life, Peggy was baptized at St. Michael’s Church in Olympia. Her faith remained a guiding force as she became an active member of several parishes over the years, including St. John’s in Montesano, Washington, and both St. Mary’s and St. Augustine’s in Moscow, Idaho. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League and rarely missed weekly Mass. Peggy embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and joy. She poured her heart into caring for her family — baking delicious treats from scratch, knitting with care, decorating her home with warmth and creativity, and nurturing a loving household. Her green thumb brought beauty to every raspberry garden she tended, and her passion for running reflected her vibrant spirit.

She also had a deep affection for animals especially her beloved miniature schnauzers who were constant companions through the years.

Above all else, Peggy cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband Greg; their: children Chris Grove, Ammie (Grove) Falen, Katie (Grove) Brooks, Heidi (Grove) Armstrong and Andrea (Grove) Brooks, Matthew Harp as well as 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her legacy lives on through them and all who were touched by her unwavering love and kindness.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Morris William Fant and Marjorie Joan Fant, as well as her brother Gus Fant.

A funeral Mass will be held to honor Peggy’s life at 11 a.m. on April 22, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Moscow, Idaho.

May Margaret Marie “Peggy” Harp’s memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
