Nadine Ellen Petrich

Nadine Ellen Petrich, age 89, a longtime Aberdeen resident for many years, died on January 27, 2024, in Hoquiam, Washington. Mrs. Petrich was born on January 21, 1935, in Aberdeen to Edwin and Wilda (Perry) Spencer. She had attended Aberdeen schools and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1953. Nadine had worked for Northwest Bell as a phone operator prior to her marriage.

On January 28, 1956, she and Donald R. Petrich were married. She was an expert equestrian and was one of the first members of the Grays Harbor Posse and had owned one of the first Appaloosas in Grays Harbor. They made their home in Aberdeen. In the 1970s and ‘80s, she worked in the cafeteria for the Aberdeen School District. She later formed her own business restoring and repairing antique porcelain dolls. Being an accomplished seamstress, she would purchase vintage dresses, disassemble them, and create clothing for the dolls. She was also an artist, specializing in oils.

In retirement, she and Don purchased a cabin on Lake Nahwatzel and spent much of their time there. Nadine loved her cats, Bella and Bob. (Bob cat — a true Aberdeen girl)

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Laurie Kollman of Montesano; a son, Michael Petrich of Elma; grandchildren, Julie Kollman and Sunnie Redner; and great-grandchildren, Hudson and Hayden Redner. A sister, Carol Scott died previously.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Channel Point for their excellent care and compassion. They truly made it her home.

An urn committal will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
