Nancy Ann Rabourn

Our beloved Nancy Ann Rabourn, age 77, born to Harvey and Thelma Rabourn passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 16, 2017.

Our beloved Nancy Ann Rabourn, age 77, born to Harvey and Thelma Rabourn passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 16, 2017.

Nancy was the only girl among five children. Her brothers were Jack, Jim, Jerry and Robert. She graduated from Lake Stevens high school in 1958 and Western Washington University in 1963.

Nancy was known for her sense of humor, infectious laugh and unwavering love for students and family. She was a long-time history teacher at Hoquiam Middle School, a counselor and a beloved basketball coach.

Nancy loved traveling, especially with her high school classmates to places like Italy, Vietnam, Russia, Egypt and China. Nancy also traveled the U.S. and loved her annual trips to Reno.

Nancy spent many summers at her cozy cabin on Mason Lake built by her dad and brothers. She enjoyed boating, fishing and taught skiing to family and students.

Nancy, also known as “Nana” by (Bailey Skolrood, Ryan and Ann McNee) was always surrounded by family, nieces and nephews, current and past students. She loved yearly camping and fishing trips with them to Eastern Washington. She always brought her favorite jelly filled powdered hostess donuts, enough for everyone!

Nancy is survived by her two brothers Jim and Robert. She will always be remembered as a bright, shining light to her family and her teaching community of 30 years. She will be missed by all including her close friends the McNees, Skolrood / Ham family as well as her lifelong friends from high school.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date announced through social media.
