Naomi Whitfield died on Aug. 11, 2024, at age 86, in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
She was born in Cleveland, Arkansas on March 12, 1938, to Carl and Gladys (Brents) Hoffman, who preceded her in death. Naomi was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carlos (Tim) Timothy Hoffman and David Carl Hoffman; niece, Annette Llamas and her daughter, Danielle; and husbands, John R. Brazier (1992), Leroy Gilgert (1997), and Dana A. Whitfield (2021).
She is survived by niece, Melinda Lee and her family, 6 step-children, 15 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
The Hoffman family moved from Arkansas to Washington state in 1942. Naomi moved to California in 1957 and lived there until she and Dana moved to Texas in 2012 and to Oklahoma in 2017. She worked as a bookkeeper and photographer and enjoyed hiking and camping, gardening, writing and painting. She had been a member of First Baptist Church, Stockton, California and Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas.
