Nettie Lou Yeager, age 89, a lifetime resident of Hoquiam, died on Aug. 23, 2023, at her home in Hoquiam. Mrs. Yeager was born on Sept. 7, 1933, in Hoquiam, Washington to Burton C. and Irma A. (Downing) Taylor.
In 1950, she and William David Taylor were married in Elma. The couple made their home in Hoquiam where they raised their children, Terry and Linda. For many years, she and William had been active members of the First Baptist Church of Hoquiam.
She loved gardening, especially flowers, baking and crafting. She is remembered for her gifts of afghans and Christmas stockings. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her children’s and grandchildren’s clothing.
Surviving family members include her daughter, Linda Gill and her husband Harry of Hoquiam; daughter-in-law, Christine Yeager of Montesano; a sister, Bertie McKown of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Sinclair and wife, Nicole; Jerry Dean Sinclair, Misty King, Sheila Wagner, Heather Lee Gimby-Glennon and husband Pat; and Casey Michael Yeager and wife Terah. There are numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her son, Terry Yeager and a brother, Dallas Taylor died previously.
A service for Nettie will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam with Rev. Adair Krack officiating. Interment will follow at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park. After the service at Sunset, everyone is invited to a potluck at the First Baptist Church in Hoquiam.
