Long time Ocean Shores resident Patty Lee (Mayes) Beach passed away in Seattle on March 28, 2025, at the young age of 67, after complications from leukemia. She was born on March 10, 1958, in Seattle, Washington and, at three months old, was adopted by her loving parents, Lee Russell Mayes and Helen Eva (Batinovich) Mayes. She attended both Hoquiam and North Beach high schools, as well as Grays Harbor College. On July 24, 1976, Patty married the love of her life, Miles Beach, in Redland, Oregon. Their love for each other was immeasurable and the affection they had for one another was apparent to all who witnessed it.
Patty began working at the North Beach School District in 2008 as a cook at the elementary schools. She adored the children, and they were very fond of her, as well.
Patty enjoyed many hobbies and activities, such as watercolor painting, baking, pottery, and music. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She loved being with her family and attending the grandchildren’s various activities and milestones such as birthdays, school concerts and plays, sporting events, church sacraments, and graduations. She was so proud of them.
Patty is survived by her loving husband, Miles Beach; daughter, Juliet (Chris) Mazza of Maple Valley, and their children, Gavin, Carson, Gianna, and Bianca; sons Lyle (Gretchen) Beach of North Bend, Washington; and Taylor (Nicole) Beach of Ocean Shores, and their children, Cadence, Liam, and Archer; brother, Joseph (Nancy) Mayes of Shelton, Washington as well as many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Helen (Batinovich) Mayes, and her grandson, Jaden.
