Paul F. Hennessy, 72 of Grayland, Wash. passed away on Nov. 20, 2018, following a long struggle with respiratory illness.

Paul F. Hennessy, 72 of Grayland, Wash. passed away on Nov. 20, 2018, following a long struggle with respiratory illness.

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard right out of High School and served for 20 years, with an honorable discharge on Oct. 1, 1986. Tours of duty included The Arctic Seas; The Antarctic; and Alaska. He later participated in the VFW and American Legion.

In civilian life, Paul studied business and worked at Husky Stadium and Safeco Fields in Seattle, Wash. After moving to Westport in 2009 he worked in the Seafood Industry, weighing fish caught by proud fishermen and working in dockside cafés. Paul was also an accomplished chef and worked with Cheri to manage hundreds of Westport festival vendors. In his later years he became an actor, performing in plays with The Grayland Theater.

Paul is survived by Cheri Ruth Cain, his wife of 25 years who now lives at The Alder House in South Bend, Wash.; sister Pat (Thomas) James; son, Aaron Hennessy; son, Robert Hennessy; daughter, Paula Hennessy (Van Hise) and several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Paul Hennessy and Loretta Mary Hall Hennessy; one brother, William J. Hennessy and an ex-wife Ellen Alicia Majkut who was the mother of his children.

A military internment is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at The Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Berean Bible Church, 2345 N 185th St., Shoreline, WA.
