Paul Stewart Wakefield was born in Olean, New York on Feb. 21, 1943 and died at home in Beavercreek, Oregon on Jan. 3, 2022. He was the son Edwin Ora Wakefield and Mary Smith. He was the stepson of Ellsworth Kellogg. Paul had a brother, Edwin Wakefield, and one stepbrother, Allen Kellogg, who both predeceased him.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 40+ years, Janet Wakefield in 2002.
He was predeceased by his son Ken Wakefield (Cindy) in March of 2020, his daughter Deborah Baker in June of 2021, and his son David Wakefield in October of 2021.
Paul started his work career at Powill Manufacturing in Phoenix, Arizona. His passion was to be a machinist and he earned his way into that profession. After moving to Aberdeen, Washington he worked as a machinist at Lamb Grays Harbor and later Simpson Door. Paul had an interim employment at the Bremerton Navy Yard. He was proud of this because he wanted to serve his country in some way.
Paul is survived by his wife Sandra Grzeskowiak; eight grandchildren David and Devin Wakefield of Aberdeen, Washington; Robert Baker (Sara) of Phoenix, Arizona; Crystal Delahanty (Keith) of Bremerton, Washington; and Missy Dawson, Ashley Wakefield, Kenny Wakefield (Lupita), and Kyle Wakefield of Aberdeen, Washington. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Jaiden Pruitt, Keira and Liam Delahanty; Aaiden and Skye Baker; Zola Wakefield; and Trevor and Tyler Dawson.
A celebration of life for Paul, David, Ken and Deborah will be at Fern Hill Funeral home in Aberdeen on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at 1 p.m. Interment will be immediately following at Fern Hill Cemetery. Flowers respectfully declined.
