Peter Laurence Zobrist passed away peacefully at his home in Westport, Washington on May 20, 2024. He was 84 years old.

Peter was born on October 25, 1939 in Seattle, Washington to parents Albert Laurence Zobrist and Myrtle (Shoemaker) Zobrist. He graduated from Lincoln High School before going on to earn his degree from Pierce College. Peter resided in Hermosa Beach, California where he enjoyed living by the ocean and playing beach volleyball.

After spending 15 wonderful years together, he married the love of his life, Louise Macciocchi, on November 10, 1989 when they relocated to Westport. Upon retiring they moved to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica in 2010, and then returned to live in Westport in 2014.

He served four years in the United States Air Force. Then he worked for Boeing, Frye Industrial, and later the Ocosta School District as a school bus driver.

Peter was a member of the VFW and also did volunteer work for PAWS of Costa Rica. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time reading and playing his guitar. He was a lover of animals and had a special place in his heart for his sweet pup, Wesley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrtle Zobrist; and sons, Daniel Zobrist and Peter (Lorrie) Zobrist.

Peter is survived by his loving wife, Louise Zobrist, of Westport; son, Grant Black, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter, Eileen Zobrist, of Olympia, Washington; brother, Albert Zobrist, of Thousand Oaks, California; sister, Lorraine George, of Manhattan, Kansas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no services held at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
