Richard Cabe, 96, a lifetime resident of Elma, Washington, passed away at his home on March 14, 2024. He was the son of J. D. Merion Cabe and Edith Easton Cabe.

Richard was born in Elma and graduated from Elma High School in 1945. He went on to serve in the US Army and worked for the Grays Harbor PUD until retirement.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Cabe Smith (William) Tenino, Washington; his son Brian Cabe ( Renee Riffle) Kahoka, Missouri; two grandchildren Margo Morales Tumwater, Washington and Alexander Smith (Megan) of Eagle River, Alaska and 2 great-grand-daughters.

Besides farming and logging, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Porter Fire Department, Sharon Grange, Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and the Satsop Flying Club.

A small graveside service will be held at the Elma Masonic Cemetery on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2 p.m.
