Richard Vernon “Dick” Getty, age 83, a resident of Elma, passed away on June 26, 2018. He was born in Hoquiam Nov. 26, 1934, to Frances and Charlie Getty. Dick was raised in Copalis Beach with three brothers, Bob, David and Glen (all deceased).

44 years ago, Dick went with his best friends, Hoss, Kenny and Jan, to Eastern Washington on a hunting trip. Phyllis also went with her best friend, Jan. They hunted, laughed and Dick and Phyllis fell in love. They made their home in Hoquiam and raised their children there.

Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis; his children Mike, Karl and Laurie; grandchildren Micheal, Ashley, Lacey Jai, Dani and Tiffy and five great-grandchildren Paris, Hannah, Brandon, Logan and Tiegan.
