Robert “Bob” James Miller, age 71, died Saturday July, 3, 2021, in Sequim, Washington, after a three-year battle against cancer. He was surrounded by his devoted wife of 51 years and their two sons.

Bob met the love of his life, Charlene, in Denver, Colorado. They raised their family in Lake Quinault, Washington, then later started and operated a successful machine and hydraulic shop in the nearby town of Forks for several years. Most recently, they retired to sunny Sequim and enjoyed creating metal art and traveling to nearby farmers markets and festivals to share their creations.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Evelyn. He is survived by his spouse Charlene, children Robert, Michael and Pamela, as well as their spouses Alycia, Ashley and Jeramy; his sisters Betty, Carol Jean and Norma; and grandchildren Robert, Ashlyne, Cody, Hunter, Justin, Chace, Eva and Ryker.

Known as an avid outdoorsman, Bob loved hunting, fishing, clam digging and camping. Some of his last words included a request for family to gather around a bonfire and cook a chicken in the dutch oven, followed by peach cobbler, in his memory. He is well-remembered for his quick sense of humor and a deep love of family.

At Bob’s request, there will be no formal services held. Instead, his ashes will be spread on a beach in Sitka, Alaska that he held fond memories of.

In the words of the ancient Greek statesman Pericles, “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” Bob continues to live through his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces, family and friends who knew and loved him.
