Robert G. Blanchard Sr., just shy of 92, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2023. Robert was born on March 4, 1931, in Montesano, Washington to Leland and Katie Blanchard. Robert was a lifetime resident of Montesano.

Robert married Nanci in Reno, Nevada. They were together for 52 years. They were charter members of the Montesano Moose Lodge. Robert worked for Grays Harbor Veneer in Hoquiam, Washington for 44 years before retiring. He loved reading western books, traveling and the card game pinochle. He and Nanci were members of two pinochle clubs and played weekly.

Robert is survived by his sons Richard (Jackie) Blanchard and Robert (Jonna) Jr Blanchard; daughters Joy Sackrider, Jane Wright, Joyce (Tommy) Gronvold, and Joni (Jeff) Baker; niece Connie, 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his wife Nanci Blanchard; parents Leland and Katie Blanchard; sons Dale and Robin Blanchard; six siblings; and granddaughter Rhea Blanchard.
