Roy Blair Ball passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016

Longtime Malone resident Roy Blair Ball passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, with his family by his side. Roy was born May 21, 1931, in Pontiac, Mich., to Roy and Birtha (Adams) Ball.

On Sept. 13, 1954, Roy married the love of his life Marlene Mae Preittie in Parksville, Wis. They were married 56 wonderful years before she passed away on Oct. 31, 20I0.

Roy and Marlene moved to Malone in 1977 and had also lived in Coos Bay, Ore.

Roy enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He loved to play rummy and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Roy loved to tell jokes and had an awesome personality.

Roy is survived by his loving children, Roy J. Ball of Elma; Richard G. Ball and Birtha M. Taylor both of Malone; Billie B. Blair of Parker, Wash.; Mary I. Daniels of Arkansas and Leon L. Ball of Florida; and his brother Louis Ball of North Bend, Ore.; 28 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Marlene he is also preceded in death by his daughter Edna

M. Barnes; brother Leon and sisters Edna, Susan, Irma and Irene.

On Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, there will be a Celebration of Roy’s Life at the Elma Grange Hall at 1:30 p.m.
