Sharon Lee Reynvaan, 89, a lifelong resident of Grays Harbor went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born on Aug. 28, 1935, to Harold and Grace Johnson. She was raised on a small farm in Central Park with her older sister Barbara. In her youth, Sharon could be found riding through the countryside with her friends on her beloved horses Royetta and Nikki.
Sharon graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1953. After graduation Sharon worked for the GH County Extension Agency and then later Aberdeen Federal Savings & Loan. Sharon married Robert Reynvaan on April 7, 1962. They bought a farm on the East Hoquiam Road where they raised their 4 girls. Sharon was very involved in her children’s lives. She was a 4-H leader, camp cook and beef superintendent at the GH County Fair. In 2006 the Grays Harbor County Fair was dedicated to Sharon in recognition of her many years of service to the 4-H Youth and the community.
Sharon loved gardening and had a green thumb! She was also a wonderful baker and loved selling her vegetables and baked goods at the Farmer’s Market where she was especially known for her apple pies.
Sharon also loved dancing, music, trying her luck at the casinos, bowling, playing pinochle with friends, and vacationing with her family.
If you were lucky enough to know Sharon then you were blessed. She had a beautiful smile, a quick wit, and a sweet gentle soul.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents Harold and Grace Johnson, and her sister Barbara Pinger.
Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are her daughters: Lori Gourlie (Bill), Wendy Thomsen, Darcy Wright (Jim) and Allison Lilly (Mike) and grandchildren: Whitney, Taylor and Parker McCormick; Gracie, Thomas and Isabella Thomsen; and great-granddaughter Madison Dineen.
