Sharon Louise Fitz

Sharon Louise Fitz was born in Aberdeen, Washington to Allen Edward and Marie Maxine Thompson on July 25, 1929.

Former Aberdeen resident Sharon Louise Fitz passed peacefully Aug. 14, 2024, at Brookdale West in Olympia.

Sharon was born in Aberdeen Washington to Allen and Marie Maxine Thompson on July 25, 1929. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1947 and married Stanley Fitz on Aug. 28, 1947, in Aberdeen where they made their home. Stan and Sharon were married 62 years until Stan’s passing in 2009.

Sharon’s kids remember her as a caring, loving, and energetic mother who loved to garden, cook, golf, and entertain her large family.

As her kids grew and grandchildren appeared Sharon entertained at the homes that Stan built for the family, both in Aberdeen and at Totten Inlet near Olympia. During the summers Sharon and her family loved the life in and on the waters of southern Puget Sound. From 1995 until she passed Sharon lived full-time at the family home on Totten Inlet and then in Olympia.

In addition to raising four kids, Sharon had a long career in banking at Aberdeen Federal Savings and Loan in Aberdeen, retiring as VP Comptroller.

Sharon is survived by her four children: Allen Fitz (Chris), Lynn Paylor (Bob), Bill Fitz (Joanne) and Susie Archuleta (Wally); nine grandchildren: Jason Fitz (Alyssa), Eric Hopkins (Alicia), Lindsay Paylor Jones (Brad), Rob Paylor (Erin), Ben Paylor (Sheena), Ryan Fitz, Erin Foley Fitz (Kellen), Rylee Archuleta and Hailey Archuleta; and great-grandchildren: Kolby, Robbie, Audrey, Evy, Gigi, Tyson, Landry, Kai, Paxton, Scout, Sloan, Kendra, Dre Allen, and Lyle.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Sharee Ruse for the abundance of caring assistance she provided to Sharon in her final years.

A private memorial service will be held, and Sharon will be interred beside her husband Stanley Fitz at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
