Simona Wesley (87) of Aberdeen, was born on Oct. 28, 1935, and passed away on Nov. 8, 2022.
Those who were lucky enough to know Simona, know that she was an extremely hard worker and a fiercely independent woman. Simona’s hobbies included crocheting, making tamales and watching telenovelas. She also loved drinking coffee and eating Mexican pastries with family while reminiscing about her childhood. She was fluent in both Spanish (first language) and English (self-taught).
Simona was a special woman who had a huge heart for others and not just for her own blood. Simona spent her adult years working as a caregiver and also took a hand at fostering, where she took in a number of children both short and long-term. Simona was known for taking in and caring for neighborhood kids as well; offering whatever was needed — food, shelter, school clothing/supplies, etc. Simona’s priority was to share her blessings with those who were dear to her, to ensure they were taken care of.
Simona was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Simona is survived by her children: Aneeda McCoy, Vince Wesley, Robert Wesley and Saundra Valentino; her grandchildren: Kevin McCoy, Sean McCoy, Lindsey (John Berkey) McCoy, Alicia (Christopher) Fulton, Brandon Hayter and Michelle Hayter; and great-grandchildren: Roland McCoy and Easton Fulton.
A celebration of Simona’s life will take place on March 25, 2023, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Harbor City Church, located at 1700 Cherry St, Aberdeen, WA 98520. All who knew and loved Simona are welcome to join.
