Susan Elaine Carter passed away on July 8, 2018, from cancer. She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Aberdeen, Wash., the oldest child of Warren Max Carter and Iris Barbara (Nickell) Carter.
She married and divorced Tom Stark with whom she had two sons, Nathan (Kelly) Stark and Trevor Stark.
She has three grandchildren, Tyrion and Zane Stark, (Nathan) and Krista Stark, (Trevor).
Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.
Suzi graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army after which she lived in Seattle for several years before returning to Hoquiam. She also lived in Stockton, Calif. before returning home to Hoquiam.
Her favorite jobs were at ITT Rayonier and Ovalstrapping before retiring for health reasons.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her mother Iris B. Carter and siblings: Daniel (Ginger) Carter, Albert (Judy) Carter and Bobbie (Tony) Sturm; numerous nieces and nephews and her large extended family. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Henry Perkins, her constant companion.
She was preceded in death by her father, Warren M. Carter, and her brother Steven M. Carter.
She will be missed by all.
A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2018, at Events on Emerson, 212 4th St., Hoquiam. All are welcome.
