Susan “Susie” Kay Howe, 65, Hoquiam resident passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Susan “Susie” Kay Howe, 65, Hoquiam resident passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Susie was born on May 10, 1959, in Sedro Woolley, Washington to Violet Crosby and Vincent Howe. She was one of six children, the family lived in the Sedro Woolley area before moving to Grays Harbor. They lived in Aberdeen and Hoquiam for a period of time, while Susie attended both Aberdeen and Hoquiam Schools. In 1978, Susie welcomed her first child, son, Daniel. In 1980, she brought her daughter, Heidi, into the world. Susie and her children lived in various cities around Washington such as: Tacoma, Everett, Centralia, Chehalis, Montesano, Hoquiam, and Aberdeen. In 2019, Susie moved to Hoquiam, Washington where she remained until her untimely passing.

Susie was a member of the Aberdeen Lions Club. She enjoyed sunflowers and taking day trips to the casino. Susie loved taking family camping trips with her children, siblings, and mother. She loved fishing on the rivers and lakes. Susie also took great pride in cooking. She made many family spaghetti dinners, and holiday meals. She made the best potato salad, and during the holiday season, she baked the best pumpkin bars. Susie held a special place in the hearts of her family and friends and will be forever cherished and missed.

Susie is survived by her son, Daniel Wheeler, of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Heidi Wheeler, of Phoenix, Arizona; mother, Violet Shows, of Shelton, Washington; brother, Dewayne Howe, of Aberdeen, Washington; sister, Sandra (Larry) Hubbs of Shelton, Washington; 4 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Janessa, Savannah, and Travis; as well as many more extended family and friends.

Susie is preceded in death by her father, Vincent Howe; brothers: Allen Howe, and Wayne Howe who passed in infancy; sister, Rosie Howe; and sister-in-law- Jeanie Howe.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at 1 p.m. located at the family home of Bear Gulch, Aberdeen, Washington.
