It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved wife and mother, Teresa Jolene “TJ” Caswell, age 66. She died unexpectedly while undergoing dialysis Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, 2025. She was born on Sept. 3, 1958, in Aberdeen, Washington to Gary and Jo Lawrence. TJ graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1976 and received her Associates of Arts Degree from Grays Harbor Community College.

She married her high school sweetheart, Russ Caswell, on Aug. 1, 1981. TJ worked as a legal assistant in Seattle and in Kitsap County for Stan Williams and Bill Broughton. She stepped away from her career to begin her family and raise her two sons, Ryan and Paul. When the boys were grown, she returned to the legal field as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Kitsap County Courts before health issues forced her to retire in 2016. Throughout her life, TJ led with unwavering empathy and compassion. She dedicated herself to improving the lives of children, nurturing not only her beloved sons, but also championing the young lives she advocated for in her role as Guardian Ad Litem. Her commitment to protecting children’s best interests left an indelible impact on countless families throughout Kitsap County.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband Russ, sons Ryan and Paul, brother Dave (Kris) Lawrence, sister Stacie Lawrence, brother John (Judy) Lawrence, and her adored dog Nani.

At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Kitsap County Humane Society.
