Thelma Louise Sellers, 84, passed away at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen on Tuesday evening, Feb. 20, 2018, with her family by her side. Thelma was born on Aug. 21, 1933, in Acme, Wyo. to Gardner and Anna (Eberhardt) McAllister. She graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1951.
Thelma married Arnold Kost on Oct. 8, 1950, in Sheridan, Wyo. after Thelma graduated High School. They moved to New Mexico then Texas before settling in Aberdeen and divorced in 1972. It was here she attended Grays Harbor College in 1975 and received her AAS. With her newly obtained degree she went to work at Grays Harbor Community Hospital as a billing clerk. She retired after 24 years on Sept. 1, 1998.
On May 22, 1976, Thelma married Roy E. Sellers in Aberdeen, Wash. They spent many happy years together until his passing in December 1986.
Thelma enjoyed crocheting and donating to charitable organizations whose causes were close to her heart. She did this by staying active in Aberdeen’s Eagles, Elks, and VFW Lady’s Auxiliary. Thelma loved to go camping with her family as well. They traveled around the western United States making memories. In her later years she spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Thelma is survived by her son Terry (Melissa) Kost of Aberdeen; grandchildren James (Christina) Kost and Jacqueline Kost of Aberdeen; Spencer (Tiffany) Kost, of Spanaway; Mallerie Kost (Esteban Lopez) of Olympia; and great-grandchildren Jaycee Kost, and Emery Kost. She was preceded in death by her son Russell Kost of Bellevue; three unborn children; her brothers William McAllister of Wyoming, Junior, David, and Donald McAllister of Aberdeen; sisters Sarah McAllister of Wyoming and Mary McAllister of Aberdeen; and great-granddaughter Savannah Colleen Kost Crow.
A Cryptside service will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, with entombment in the Fern Hill Mausoleum, 2212 Roosevelt St, Aberdeen. There will be a gathering at the home of Terry and Melissa Kost afterwards.
