Thomas “Tom” Bacon left us prematurely on Sunday, February 19, 2023 with his beloved wife, Sandy, at his side. Family members were blessed with the gift of saying goodbye.
Tom was a gentle, kind man, always ready to offer help to others. After a busy 34 year career with the Seattle Police Department he retired in 2021 allowing him time to spend with family, travel, play his guitar, and landscape their property in Ocean Shores. Always one to keep busy, he took on jobs & projects at the Elks Lodge in Ocean Shores which he enjoyed.
Tom was born in Reno, Nevada and raised in Hermosa Beach in California. After graduating from high school he moved to Washington, eventually settling in Kent to raise his family. His work with the Seattle Police Department included a role in the DUI team, many years of teaching recruits and eventually landing as a detective in the crash scene investigation squad.
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife Sandy Bacon; loving daughter, Jennifer Parsons; sons, Alexander Bacon and Kyle Bacon; stepson, Craig Cekala; grandchildren, Natasha Motley,Thomas Motley and Ched Ott; and sister, Jolene Kreling.
