Tina McCarroll, 82, passed away due to cancer on June 14, 2017, in Tumwater, Wash. She was born Feb. 10, 1935, to Andrew and Mary Whelan in Inchiquin, County Galway, Ireland. Over the years, she also lived in New York; N.J.; San Diego, Calif.; Montesano, Wash.; and Olympia, Wash.

Tina attended Oranmore High School in County Galway, Ireland, and graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. She married Rod McCarroll on Nov. 3, 1956, at Brooklyn’s St. Francis of Assisi Church.

In addition to being a homemaker, Tina worked in civil service for Grays Harbor County, Wash. (1983-1985); San Diego County, Calif. (1986-1996); and State of Washington (1996-2000). She volunteered for CCS, enjoyed sewing, and was an avid Seattle Mariners fan. She also belonged to numerous Catholic altar societies.

Tina is survived by her sons, Sean (Debbie), Brian, Brendan, and Kevin; daughters, Colleen Cramsey-Stahl (Tom), and Kelly Olden (Mike); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy Forde, Maureen Cotter, and Sheila Onyskiw. She was predeceased by her parents and husband.

A mass will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, 12:00 noon at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1208 11th Ave., Olympia, WA 98501. Memorial donations may be made to Safe Place, 521 Legion Way SE, Olympia, WA 98501, or Assured Hospice, 2102 Carriage St. SW, Suite H, Olympia, WA 98502.
