Victoria Alana Gallanger Olson, 77, of Neilton, Washington passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Victoria Alana Gallanger Olson, 77, of Neilton, Washington passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. The oldest of six children, Victoria was born on Nov. 10, 1946, in Anacortes, Washington to Alan Earl Gallanger and Orva Grace (Wold) Gallanger.

Victoria “Vicky” Olson will remain known for her dedication to the Lake Quinault Volunteer Fire Department as an EMT, I.V. Technician, EMS instructor, and Fire Chief from 1974 until her retirement in 2011. After her retirement from the Fire Department, Vicky continued as a volunteer dispatcher until 2021. Vicky also worked for the Lake Quinault School District as a bus driver from May 1984 to August 2009 and as the nurse’s assistant from September 1995 until her retirement from the school district in August 2009 — leaving an unforgettable impact on the Lake Quinault Community.

Vicky was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished friend. She is survived by her husband Richard E. Olson, four sisters, Susan (Gallanger) Reagan (Tom), Glenda (Gallanger) Larremore (Tom), Jeane (Gallanger) McLucas (Frank), Linda (Gallanger) Bowers (Lawrence), and brother Alan Gallanger (Susan). She is also survived by her children Richard Milbourn (Shawnell), Angela (Gwinn) Borgen (Dan), Alicia Olson (Ryan Davey), and her stepchildren Kathy Graeber Olson (Todd), Marylin Olson, and Rich Olson (Kim).

She is also survived by her grandchildren Shanteal Milbourn, Ryleigh (Milbourn) Rogers (Keith), Dakota Borgen, KyLee Borgen, as well as her great-grandchildren Colten Griffin, Collen Griffin, Shylah Griffin, and Kendall Rogers.

Vicky enjoyed cooking, camping, her country music, mowing her lawn, gardening, and maintaining rhododendrons with her husband Richard. She also enjoyed her annual sisters’ weekend getaways. A Celebration of Life Potluck for Vicky will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the Lake Quinault Volunteer Fire Department in Amanda Park, Washington. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Vicky will always be remembered for her commitment and dedication to the entire Lake Quinault community.
