Walter Gruginski, of Tacoma, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Tacoma General Hospital. He was 72 years old. Walter was born on July 8, 1944, in Aberdeen to John and Ollie Gruginski Sr.
Walter was the youngest son out of six children and grew up in Aberdeen and Raymond. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1963. He worked in Aberdeen at Evans Plywood mill until they closed. After the Evans mill closed he moved to Tacoma and worked for a Tacoma lumber mill.
Walter enjoyed duck hunting with his family, riding his motorcycle, and going to garage sales. His nieces and nephews enjoyed his fun and generous nature.
Surviving Walter are his brothers Ken and Sunny Lou Gruginski of McCleary and John and Paulette Gruginski of Raymond; his sisters Mary Lou Pitt of Tacoma, Irene Straughn of Aberdeen, and Renee Buchanan of Tacoma. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Walter in death are his parents John and Ollie.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date in February at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, Wash. Rest in Peace, Walter.
