William Kyle Doran, a Raymond resident, died at his Home on April 17, 2017, at the age of 52. He was born on Sept. 30, 1964, in Tacoma, Wash. to Cheryl J. Brammer-Clason (Deceased) and William A. Doran (Deceased).
William worked as a correctional officer at McNeil Island Corrections Center for 11 years and 6 more at Stafford Creek Corrections Center. Before his time in corrections, William was Active Duty Army from 1982 to 1992, and again from 2008 to 2014 with the Active Duty Reserves. He became highly decorated, having received 20 awards during his service including a Bronze Star, an Army Commendation Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a Sergeant First Class.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, camping, making people laugh, and telling his badger story. He was also a member of the Brothers in Arms Motorcycle Club.
Kyle is survived by his wife Mary of Raymond, his daughters Hollie Lewis (Cory) of Lakewood, and Amelia Doran of Raymond. He is also survived by three brothers; Brian Lindley (Vera), Eric Lindley (Marcie), Shayn Doran (Cheryl), two brothers-in-law; William Shear (Rhonda), Joe Shear, his two sisters; Jodi Herman (Rob), Kristie Roessler (Ed), and one grandchild, Eli.
There will be a military service at the Pavilion at American Lake in Tacoma, Wash. on May 4, at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Columbia Hall, in Lacey, Wash. on May 13, at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond, Wash.
