William Lawrence Adamson III, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at his home in Snohomish, Washington.
Bill was born on May 9, 1954, to William Adamson II and Janet Hill Kombol of Snohomish, Washington. Bill grew up with his grandparents, Inge Hill and Johan Hill of Aberdeen. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1972. He married Ruthann Kite Adamson in August of 1977 and they moved to Seattle where Bill attended and graduated from the University of Washington in 1983 with his Bachelor of Science Degree. He worked as a chemical engineer for many years specializing in water treatment. He traveled extensively and made his home with his family in Olympia.
Bill was an inventor and held a United States patent issued in 1991 devising a method for continually and automatically measuring the level of a water treatment product in boiler feed.
Bill was an avid UW Husky Football fan. He loved music, skiing, playing golf with his sons and entertaining friends and family at home. Bill also enjoyed traveling, boating and swimming. He was on the diving team while he attended Weatherwax High School.
Bill is survived by his three children; Todd Adamson of Duvall, Nicole Adamson of Lacey and Tyler John Adamson of Olympia. He is also survived by his brother Nic Kombol of Snohomish and grandchildren Ashton, age 13, and Molly, age 5. Bill’s younger brother, Ross Benjamin Kombol passed away two months prior. Bill also leaves behind several loving nephews and nieces.
A private celebration of life will be held on Friday, Oct. 29 at Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel.
