Zona ‘Zo’ Miller, 90, a 25 year resident of Westport, Wash, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at her home in Westport.

Zona ‘Zo’ Miller, 90, a 25 year resident of Westport, Wash, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at her home in Westport.

Zona was born on April 25, 1927, in St. Cloud, Minn. to James P. and Ida M (Welsh) Seitz. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1945 and then moved to Sartell, Minn. where she attended Cosumnes River College.

On July 20, 1946, Zona married Richard H. Miller in Sartell. He passed away on Jan. 21, 2005.

In 1952, they moved to Hoquiam where she went to work for Grays Harbor Veneer. In 1961, they moved to Sacramento, Calif. where Zona went to work for the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles until her retirement in 1992. They moved to Westport later that year.

Zona enjoyed reading, photography and going hunting with her husband…but let him shoot the gun.

Zona is survived by her nieces: Deanna Bell of Westport and Carla Hatch of Hoquiam and about 60 other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Annette Bromenschenkel and brother-in-law, Bernard Miller of Minn. Zona was the last of her siblings all preceded her in death: James Seitz, George Seitz, Peter Seitz, Donna M. Haggerty and Mary S. Kramzer, half-siblings Edward Christopherson and Charlotte Schave. Five siblings died as infants: Rosetta Seitz, Wanda, Elma, Christopher and Helen Christopherson.

There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 1-8 p.m. at Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Westport, Wash., followed by a reception. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
