The prep girls golf season teed off on Thursday with the Harbor Jamboree on Thursday at Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis.
Using the Stableford Scoring System, Aberdeen scored 92 points to take first place behind 30 points from sophomore Britt Rajcich.
Montesano was close behind with 92 points. The Bulldogs were led by their own super-sophomore in Hailey Blancas, who shared medalist honors with her “good friend” Rajcich with 30 points.
Hoquiam was paced by Minh Thi Butler’s 22 points and placed third with 62 points overall.
Elma took fourth and was led by Favi Benitez, who tallied 18 points for the Eagles.
“The Jamboree is a great opportunity for Harbor girls to play golf together,” said Aberdeen head coach Dan Sundstrom, who thanked Arnel Blancas, Ronnie Espedal, Ray and Sue Robinson for their efforts to make it a special event for the student-athletes. “We set the groups so best friends and even cousins could play together. For most of these girls, it was the first time playing in a match and playing against someone not on their team.”
