TUMWATER — Aberdeen’s Faith Cardenas won four events in a three-school track meet hosted by Black Hills on Wednesday at Tumwater Stadium.

The Black Hills boys and Centralia’s girls took team honors.

Cardenas dominated the girls one-lap races. She won the 100 in 13.61, 200 in 27.75 and 400 meters in 1:01.74. She also joined Kennedy Pruett, Emmy Walsh and Madi Niemi on a victorious 4×100 relay team.

Patricia Bates was the other Bobcat girls winner, taking the discus with a personal-best throw of 105-01.

Aberdeen senior standout Bryan Sidor was limited to one event in the boys meet, but won the 400 with a time of 51.9.

The Bobcat boys captured four other events — Jose Salas in the 200 meters (24.53), Seth Brown in the 300 hurdles (personal best 48.41), Skyler Murray in the shot put (personal best 43-3) and Jeshua Manwell in the long jump (19-9).

Bobcat coach April Meissner also noted personal bests from Pruett, Austin Stolen, Nick Davis and Skyler Taylor.

“We have almost 70 kids this year and both the boys and girls teams had strong showings,” Meissner said.

Aberdeen will host the Ray Ryan Memorial All-County Championships on Saturday.
