BOYS PREP WRESTLING
Elma’s Espinoza, Meadows win at Keigen Langholff Memorial
Two Elma Eagles emerged victorious at the Keigen Langholff Memorial on Saturday at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.
Elma’s Jordan Meadows and Xavier Espinoza each won their respective weight classes with standout performances.
Meadows defeated Gig Harbor’s Juan Mateo via fall at 2:23 to win the 106-pound title.
Espinoza beat Gig Harbor’s Jack Greer via 17-2 technical fall to claim the 120-pound championship.
Aberdeen had two wrestlers place second in their respective classes as Michael Hatton (165 pounds) and Landon Hamblin (285) each advanced to their weight-class final match.
Aberdeen placed in a tie for fourth with Klahowya (115.5 points) with Elma taking sixth as a team with 101.5 points.

Monte grapplers win at King of the Mountain
Three Montesano wrestlers won individual titles at the King of the Mountain tournament on Saturday at Auburn Mountainview High School
Finley Ekerson (106 pounds), Adam Schmitz (113) and Gage Stutesman (165) won their respective weight-class championships to lead Monte to a second-place finish with 180 points.
Lincoln (Tacoma) placed first with 228 points.
Ekerson won via 10-1 major decision over Olympia’s Yestin Ruiz to win the 106-pound title.
Schmitz defeated Kentlake’s Porter Smith via pinfall at 49 seconds to win at 113 pounds.
Stutesman won the 165-pound final over Mount Vernon’s Bryson Keller via injury default.

Three locals victorious at Kalama Rubber Chicken
Three local wrestlers emerged with weight-class championships at the Rubber Chicken on Saturday at Kalama High School.
Hoquiam’s Kingston Case (150 pounds), Oliver Bryson (190) and Willapa Harbor’s Lucas Swogger (157) each won an individual title on Saturday.
Case defeated Castle Rock’s Landon Fulton via a tiebreaker at 150 pounds.
Bryson pinned Kalama’s Zach Foreman in 26 seconds to place first at 190 pounds.
Swogger defeated La Center’s Wyatt Ballard via 16-5 major decision to take the top spot at 157 pounds.
Hoquiam placed 11th overall (77 points) with Elma in 12th (74.5 pts.).
Willapa Harbor was 15th in the team standings with 57 points.
