Clark College came from behind in the second half to beat Grays Harbor College, 80-69, in a non-conference basketball game Tuesday at the GHC gym.
The Penguins erupted for 51 points in the second half of a roller-coaster affair.
Down 16-7 in the opening seven minutes, the Chokers (0-2) rallied to take a nine-point lead late in the first half before settling for a 31-29 halftime advantage.
Grays Harbor was still up by six with 14 minutes remaining, but Clark went ion a 17-2 run over the next seven minutes.
Russell Tillery paced the Chokers with 27 points. Cornelius Holifield added 10 for GHC.
“We have a lot of young, inexperienced guys and they are learning what college basketball is all about,” Grays Harbor coach Kevin Williamson said. “When we figure it out, and I hope that is sooner than later, we will be very fun to watch.”
The Chokers are participating in the Skagit Valley tournament this weekend.
