Elma’s Spencer to play two sports for Highline College

Eagles’ multi-sport athlete to play both girls soccer, softball for Thunderbirds starting this fall

Recent Elma graduate Emmie Spencer has signed a National Letter of Intent to play two sports for Highline College in Des Moines starting this fall.

Spencer, a standout goal keeper in girls soccer and as a shortstop on the softball diamond, will compete in both sports for the Northwest Athletic Conference’s Thunderbirds.

Spencer earned a First Team 1A Evergreen All-League honor after hitting .429 with three home runs, 38 runs scored and 26 RBI for the Eagles softball team this past spring.

On the pitch, Spencer was just as impressive. As a goal keeper, Spencer allowed just four goals and was named to the 1A Evergreen All-League First Team her senior season. Spencer was named to the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association’s 1A All-State Team as an Honorable Mention as a junior.
