Elma’s Valentine named league MVP for second-consecutive season

Montesano and Elma sweep top honors of 2024 1A Evergreen All-League Girls Soccer Team

After leading her team to a share of the league title and a state-playoff berth while becoming her school’s all-time leading scorer, Elma senior forward Beta Valentine was named the 1A Evergreen League MVP for the second-consecutive season, league officials announced this week.

Valentine capped off her 2024 season with 32 goals and eight assists, giving her 108 for her prep career.

It was the second year in a row Valentine was named MVP after sharing the honor with former Montesano forward and current Gonzaga Bulldog Mikayla Stanfield.

Twin Harbors student-athletes swept the majority of the league’s top honors.

Montesano sophomore forward Jaelyn Butterfield was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year after leading the co-league champion Bulldogs with 17 goals.
