Aberdeen 43, Centralia 41
Aberdeen earned its first league victory of the season, grinding out a 43-41 win over Centralia on Friday at Centralia High School.
With the Bobcats leading 17-9 at halftime after neither team shot well in the first half.
But Centralia (2-12, 1-3 Evergreen 2A) rallied in the third quarter to take a 27-23 lead into the final eight minutes of the game.
That’s when Aberdeen guard Gio Pisani made his presence felt. Pisani caught fire, hitting multiple jumpers to help Aberdeen (5-6, 1-2) regain the lead and eventually win the game 43-41.
Thirteen of Pisani’s game-high 18 points were scored in the fourth quarter.
Alejandro Valencia led Centralia with 16 points.

Elma 49, Forks 42
For the second game in a row, Elma was rewarded for offensive aggression and the Eagles took advantage.
Elma converted 19-of-22 free throws and had scoring up and down the lineup to earn a 49-42 victory over Forks on Friday at Forks High School.
Elma (7-7, 2-1 Evergreen 1A) and Forks (10-5, 1-2) were tied at 12-12 after the first quarter but the Eagles took a five point advantage into the half.
But the Spartans responded with a 10-4 third quarter to take a 32-31 lead into the fourth.
As they did in their previous game against Tenino, Elma’s free-throw shooting and defense turned out to be the difference. The Eagles outscored the Spartans 18-10 over the final eight minutes and hit 19-of-22 (86%) free throws in the game.
Nick Church led Elma with 12 points and three steals. Cobey Moore and Sawyer Witt scored eight points each for an Eagles team that held a 23-17 advantage in defensive rebounding.
Forks was led by Trey Baysinger and Antonio Falaras, who scored 24 and 12 points, respectively, but the rest of the of the team combined for just six points against Elma’s defense.

Chief Leschi 69, Raymond 62
Too many turnovers spoiled a fantastic game from Tre’ Seydel as the Raymond Seagulls lost to Chief Leschi 69-62 on Friday at Chief Leschi High School.
Raymond (4-9, 4-7 Pacific 2B) took a 27-25 lead at the half and extended it to five points at 48-43 heading into the final quarter.
But turnovers turned into easy buckets for Chief Leschi (8-6, 6-6), which outscored the Seagulls in the fourth quarter 26-14. Raymond had 22 turnovers in the game.
Seydel scored 36 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out five assists and had three key blocks in the contest.
Perry Joseph scored 24 points for the Warriors. Wakiyan Cuny added 18 points for Chief Leschi.

Oakville 52, Lake Quinault 25
Ashton Boyd scored 22 points to lead Oakville to a 52-25 victory over Lake Quinault on Friday at Lake Quinault High School.
The Acorns (1-5, 1-2 Coastal 1B) shot 20-of-29 (69%) from inside the arc.
Jesus Mendoza led Lake Quinault (0-6, 0-3 Coastal 1B) with 11 points.

Raymond 35, Chief Leschi 33
The Chief Leschi Warriors were bound and determined that Raymond’s high-scoring standout Kyra Gardner was not going to beat them on Friday.
Problem for the Warriors was they forgot about Hannah Miller.
Raymond’s second-leading scorer hit a shot late to tie the game then followed with a pair of free throws to put it on ice as the Seagulls earned a key 35-33 victory over Chief Leschi in Raymond.
With the Warriors defense focused on stopping Raymond all-star sophomore Kyra Gardner, Miller grabbed an offensive rebound and made the putback to tie the game at 33-33 with 40 seconds left to play.
After a Chief Leschi turnover on the next possession, Miller secured the victory when she was fouled and converted both free throws with five seconds left.
“The key to the game was we, as a team, were able to make one more play than Chief Leschi when it counted,” Raymond head coach Jason Koski said. “I’m really proud of the kids for being able to stay connected and compete the entire contest.”
Gardner, who hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter that gave Raymond a 30-23 lead, finished with a 16 points, 10 rebounds and five steals to lead the Seagulls (13-1, 11-1 Pacific 2B).
Miller finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Raymond.
The Warriors (8-5, 7-4) were led by Mylina Pluff’s 10 points.

Willapa Valley 50, North Beach 17
Willapa Valley took care of the basketball and hung its hat on its defense once again in a 50-17 victory over North Bend on Friday at Willapa Valley High School.
Willapa Valley (8-5, 7-4 Pacific 2B) held North Beach (2-12, 2-10) to just 16% from the floor on 6-of-37 shooting in the game.
The Vikings were led by Katie Adkins, who scored 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and four steals for a Willapa Valley team that committed just 10 turnovers in the contest, four of those coming in the fourth quarter after the Vikings had emptied its bench.
Cami Swartz added 11 points for the Vikings on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting night.

Ilwaco 59, South Bend 17
South Bend struggled against league-leading Ilwaco in a 59-17 loss on Friday at Ilwaco High School.
South Bend (6-8, 6-6 Pacific 2B) fell behind 24-2 after the first quarter and trailed 41-6 at halftime.
Erika Glenn scored 12 points in the contest to lead a trio of Fishermen shooters that scored in double digits on the evening.
South Bend, which was led by Hannah Jewell’s eight points in the game, shot just 6-of-34 from the field.
“When you are not able to convert good shots, its hard to compete against a really good team,” South Bend head coach Randy Carlson said.
