Grays Harbor College is in the final stages of selecting a candidate to fill the vacant athletic director position.
According to Grays Harbor College Vice President Jennifer Alt, a committee has been meeting to discuss potential candidates and hopes to have a finalized list of potential athletic directors cemented by this coming Wednesday.
Grays Harbor President Jim Minkler will make the final decision on who to hire after considering the input from the hiring committee.
Former athletic director Tom Sutera handed in his resignation in late March and left the position at the end of June.
GHC is also in the process of hiring a student success navigator that will serve as an academic advisor to student athletes and take over game management responsibilities that were handled by Sutera last school year. Three candidates are being interviewed for the role with school also hoping to have its final list of candidates submitted to Minkler by the middle of next week.
The position was previously held by former GHC volleyball coach Christine Nelson, who resigned both of her positions earlier this year to coach volleyball at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Oregon.
