Hoquiam High School participating in T-Mobile social-media sweepstakes program

School already awarded $1,000, now eligible for $5,000 prize

The Hoquiam High School athletics department is participating in the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights sweepstakes program.

According to Hoquiam Athletic Director Shane Krohn, the school has already been awarded $1,000 through the program, which is part of T-Mobile’s push to expand its 5G network into smaller communities.

Hoquiam is now eligible for one of 300 monetary awards of $5,000 to put toward a project of the school’s choosing.

Entry into the social-media based sweepstakes program requires users to create an Instagram post using the hashtags #FN5GL and #Sweepstakes while tagging accounts @hoquiamathletics and @TMobile in the post through Sept. 20.

In October, 16 finalists will be chosen to receive a $25,000 prize with one winner receiving a grand prize of $100,000, an upgraded weight room, a new scoreboard, 5G network upgrades and a tailgate party with live music and a halftime drone show.
